Introducing:--

This is a cute episode featuring hilarious lines.

The majority of the band is waiting in the garage for rehearsal to begin when Gloria enters – in a very peculiar get-up. Seems she’s trying to join The Angels, an elite girls’ society at school. Part of their hazing ritual includes wearing an actual halo and set of wings – which the kids waste no time in picking apart. Their rehearsal is interrupted by illustrious president of The Angels, Gabriella Von Bron (are you fawning? Of course not – nobody knows who she is).

She and Wendy - I mean, her second in command with curly hair that couldn’t possibly be Wendy – are checking up on their new pledge and are not happy with what they find. The gang is shocked to see their normally confident Gloria reduced to sucking-up to someone putting down her friends.

The abuse continues the next day. As if wings and a halo weren’t enough, Gloria enters The P*lace with her hands and feet covered in fur, with whiskers drawn on her face! Meow, meow! Apparently this is the second pledge level. (Thankfully, we are left to wonder on our own what the other two remaining levels look like)

Kids Inc. is mortified as they watch Gloria perform the humiliating “Kitty Voice” ritual. It becomes too much for The Kid to stomach. That's it - I'm gonna throw up! They can’t understand why anyone would lower themselves just to join a club of snooty girls. You might think I’m crazy, but I like this next musical number ;)

Gloria keeps getting written up for the company she keeps, and later on, Gabriella catches her in study hall sans her costume. She insults Stacy and The Kid once more, and they decide they’ve had enough and retaliate. NERDBREATH! Poor Gloria is forced to attempt to keep the peace. But Gabriella is disturbingly calm as she announces that the kids are about to get theirs in a big way – courtesy of the newest Angel. By upping the ante, Gabriella has forced Gloria to make a choice between her friends and The Angels (and has also encouraged a solo).

Angelic Kitty Gloria is frantic. As she paces back in forth in front of The P*lace, she is thwarted in her attempt to send Stacy and Kid home before Gabriella can make her exact revenge.
Too late. The holier-than-thou ones arrive with a devilish plan: soak The Kid with seltzer water and chuck a pie in Stacy’s face. Will Gloria do it? No – she wallops Gabriella instead.
To the delight of the crowd and her friends, she strips herself of Angel trappings and returns to her mortal self – to rock.

I gave this episode five microphones because it took a common sitcom theme and did it really well. The Kitty scenes were especially cute. The Kid’s dialogue is hilarious:

“I think I’ll throw up.”
“Us barbarians are so choosy about the company we keep.”
“That’s it – I’m gonna throw up!”

I am glad they cut out the fifth song and spent more time on the plot. The songs themselves weren’t that great.
