There used to be so many Wild Orchid
fansites out there, and it makes me sick to think that they're shutting down,
mostly due to the belief that a site needs graphics, special Javascript effects,
and music/video in order to be "good". This couldn't be farther from the
truth.
We are all Wild Orchid fans.
Flashy sites do not make a fan. Neither does an outstanding collection of
concert footage. If you were to take a flower apart and lay all of its
petals out side by side, you'd see that not all of them are the same size.
But they are equally important in adding to the beauty of the flower. I know
there are lots of site awards out there, but this one is different. Nearly every
single one of you out there qualify for Small But Sincere's "Petal" of
Honor.
You are a fan.
If you have at least one WO page, that is a fansite. I
don't care if you only have a few pictures, or an account of when you met
WO and some links, they're all WO fansites. In fact, I'll even go as
far as to say I wish there were more of those sites around, because the
more WO sites we have, the more chances we can get others interested, and
maybe we can convince them to keep going, or get Fire officially released. Do
you realize that, if every fan had a 2-page fansite, there would be, at the very
least, a thousand WO pages online? Imagine all the people they
would reach!
Okay, enough preaching, here's the
deal. Let's nominate some WO sites out there that consist of maybe a few
pages, or one page on a personal site, of WO in any form or any of its
members* (and NOT the movie!). Send the URL to wildorchid @ kidsincforever.com

Someone brought up a good point. She's both a KI alum and a WO alum, so as far
as I'm concerned, you can choose either one - not both, that wouldn't be fair. I
guess it would depend on your content, and if you were actually a KI fan or
not.
I'm going to (try
to) list all the sites that have received the award, so they will get bonus
publicity as well. I hope that you will help me gather all the petals together
and help WO's reputation blossom.
